에스더 스토커는 "존재의 기하학"과 우리가 쉽게 접할 수 있는 구조물에 관심을 가지고 있다. 그녀의 설치물에서 사람과 물체는 서로 마주보고 그들 사이에 공간을 만든다. 실존적 관점에서 볼 때, 이 공간들은 우리를 형성하고 형태를 부여하며 우리가 다른 사람과 얼마나 가깝거나 멀리 있는지에 대해 인식 할 수 있게 한다. 작가는 그녀의 작품을 통해 질서와 무질서를 동시에 보여주기를 원하며, 다른 사고 방식을 결합하여 우리가 만들고자 하는 ‘완벽한 시스템’의 한계를 보여준다. 에스더 스토커는 개성의 필수적인 부분을 개발하기 위해 엄격한 시스템에서 벗어날 수 있는 기회를 제공하고자 한다.
Esther Stocker is interested in the “ Geometry of Existence” and what structures are accessible.In her installations people and objects face each other and create spaces between them. From an existential point of view, these spaces are perception and the measurement of the closeness or the distance to others that forms us and that gives shape. Through her works she wants to show order and disorder simultaneously, trying to combine different ways of thinking, showing the limits of the “Perfect systems” that we try to create.Esther Stocker wants to offer opportunities to escape those strict systems in order to develop essential parts of individuality.

Esther Stocker (b.1974) is an Italian artist who lives and works in Vienna, Austria. Esther Stocker's work consists mainly of paintings and installations in an abstract and geometrical perspective, the two genres being closely related to each other.
The artist's installations are three dimensional projections of her paintings, exclusively made with a limited palette of black, grey and white. Could they be described as spatial, sculptural paintings or rather as pictorial spaces?Her research focuses on vision and perception of space with a social and contemporary approach.
The creation of her pieces is connected to a highly elaborated mathematical discourse, an essential part of her artistic method. The artist's reflection is focused on the question: "How is a perfect system actually imperfect?".
